INTUNE was founded in January 2020 by Hannah, who discovered CBD whilst having treatment for breast cancer. Hannah brought together a group of taste experts to bring CBD to the world in great tasting drinks – to help people be present in the moment. INTUNE work hard to be as sustainable as possible, with their little CBD float (Cosmo, who is fully electric) making local deliveries, and using recyclable packaging to be as conscious of our local environment as possible. Harnessing the creative energy of Hackney, INTUNE think innovatively and push boundaries, having fun whilst doing so. They collaborate with artists, musicians, performers and bar tenders to be more than just a drink, but to be a community of forward thinkers.
Founder of INTUNE founder, Hannah, says:
“We are delighted to be partnering with Grow and Big Wowie! on their programme of uplifting canal-side cabaret, raising money for Hackney Night Shelter. INTUNE is a local small business producing fruity botanical CBD drinks and mixers, which we find help us to feel more present in the moment. We can’t wait to share our drinks with more people in our community at this unmissable series of events.”
HACKNEY NIGHT SHELTER now operates year-round providing a hot meal and a warm bed for homeless guests who would otherwise be out on the streets, and offers professional and holistic support to help guests rebuild their lives. Hackney Night Shelter is volunteer-led and has been opening doors to homeless people in the borough since 1996.
It is run by Hackney Doorways (registered charity no. 1139183).
Director of Hackney Night Shelter,
Henry Brown, says:
“For over 25 years we’ve offered a safe, welcoming place for people experiencing homelessness. With the valued support of volunteers, we offer more than a bed and a hot meal but also professional support to help our guests rebuild their lives and move towards a more sustainable lifestyle. We don’t receive any statutory funding and are extremely grateful for the generous giving from the local community at large. We’re proud to be a partner in this exciting project.”
Grow is an independent and self-organised eco-system of studios and a creative space with bars and kitchen, created out of an old sausage factory by the River Lea in Hackney Wick. It operates as an experiment in ethical and sustainable business. Grow works in partnership with artists, musicians, DJ's and community groups to host a diverse programme of events, including live jazz, open deck reggae, workshops and talks, fundraisers and art/film festivals. Grow pays London Living Wage, uses eco-electricity and is free entry wherever possible. From the bar, expect a range of locally and ethically sourced craft and organic drinks and a seasonal menu from the kitchen.
Co-founding director of Grow,
Jordanna Greaves, says:
“We’re so excited for this collaboration and immensely enjoy working with Nathan and his performers who bring the best of emerging and established comedic talent to our stage. With the addition of INTUNE we can extend our reach giving more people access to the cabaret scene in our unique canalside venue whilst fundraising for this vital local charity too!”
